Cadenza

Marianne De Roo's paintings take form after a long process of preparation, pondering, collecting and condensing ideas into visual form. Only then is the paintbrush taken in her hand, and with her trademark gestural flourishes the painted image emerges finally onto the canvas. It is a cadenza that brings the work to its finality.

​The intimate scale of the paintings in this exhibition speaks to the intense focus of the artist’s vision, she expresses herself in her unique lyrical language. Cadenza is presented as a cohesive collection of new work produced over the last two years.
